The ‘RheTrust’ research project
examines some early modern texts about rhetoric by viewing them as attempts at social education.
It focuses on how the social views of the authors influenced the teaching of rhetoric, thereby giving new meaning to theorizing and practicing persuasion.
The research conducted in the framework of the project focuses in particular on the meanings that the concepts of belief, trust, and loyalty assume within the dynamics of persuasion.
In doing so, the project aims to highlight the existence of different
cultures of trust and strategies for shaping beliefs.
Different cultures of trust and ways of shaping beliefs are understood as different options for conflict management and social inclusion.
The research behind the RheTrust project is funded under the
Young Researchers SOE scheme, which is part of the
Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Through this funding scheme, the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) finances the assignment of research grants for young researchers who have received the "Seal of Excellence" in order to encourage their entry or return to Italy.
